There are many pros and cons when you plan to attend a boat show, first you should know if you are just looking to buy soon or buying that day.

A couple of pros to boat shows, first is you have all the brands in one place to view and compare quality, price and dealers.

My advice would be to be a looker but also narrow down the kind of boat you are looking to purchase. To do this; start with water activities in mind, size of family, if you like to fish or just cruise.

Of course, it is always exciting to see the BIG Million -dollar boats, that may or may not be in your league, but hey, we can all dream!

While preparing for the show, go online and do your research on brands, options and pricing, this will steer you in a direction instead of trying to figure this out in the maze of many boats to see.

The Cons to boat shows, pressure of salespeople, the pressure of buying now and so much to take in at once.

Plus, when you are at a dealership, you may be able to test ride the boat before you buy, unlike at a show.

You can put a hold deposit, most dealers will keep the boat show price after so many days after the show, take advantage of this.

My last advice, the importance to pick a great boat builder with a brand, but the most important thing is the dealership that backs you after the sale.

Take your time, boating is a leisure activity, it is an ongoing investment, take time to find good people starting with your dealer. I have also found that in the world of boaters;

many people on the water are always willing to help another boater out. Visit the many owners' pages on face book, read the feedback on dealers, etc.

See you at the Biloxi Boat Show!!
